On May 3rd, the day before Randy turned 49, I saw Randy at WXBM Countryfest concert in Pensacola, Florida. He was wonderful. I waited through the rain all day, eventually it stopped. Lady Antebellum, Joe Nichols, then Randy at 5:15 pm. For an hour and a half, Randy continued to amaze me. The last time and also my first time seeing Randy in concert was Nov. 19, 1998. For the You and You Alone Tour, at Lakefront Arena, New Orleans. This time I traveled to our sister city to catch this show just shy of 10 years from the other. I have been a huge fan of Randy now for 20 years. I have gotten almost 800 pics of the concert in Pensacola. I also got a pic of Lib catching a part of Joe's show. Minutes before Randy took the stage. I was also fortunate to catch behind the scene pics of Randy fixing his ear monitors just seconds before coming on stage. At the end of this amazing concert of his, he autographed MY shirt. Although my efforts of getting meet and greet for this show, but the radio station had those rights that day, him waving at me upon coming onto stage, (I was yelling, Randy, I'm a fan of 20 years). You can see it in the video on Pensacola News Journal.com. I am also in a pic of the day, on the same website. Wow, it was such an amazing day. I know one day, this city boy who loves Country, will meet his mentor.
Just hoping I won't have to wait another 20 years.
With Love to all other Randy fans,
Larry (New Orleans)
Bought tickets to the show at Delta Downs Casino in Vinton, LA. last night, can't wait, only 800 seats, up close and live. Just wished they didn't comp all of the best seats that are front and center.
I know i posted this some time back and Ronda also just this week but the first airing is today at 10:00AM EDT, 9:00AM CDT and again at 3:00PM EDT, 2:00PM CDT on Great American Country (GAC).
I just don't want anyone to miss it if they were looking forward to it. I sure know i am.
GAC again re-airs it on 06/09 and 06/10.

I was wondering if you could send me an autographed picture. You were my wifes favorite singer. We had your song "Forever and ever, Amen", played at our wedding earlier this year, but she had terminal cancer. I would love to put your autographed pic, next to our wedding photos. My late wifes name is Dena and mine is John. Thank you, you have no idea, what this would mean to me.
I know singers probably get millions of unsolicited requests but--- :) here's one more---How can I contact Randy about a really good song from a writer/producer/singer who is really good and has a song that Randy could do good for? God bless us all.
hey ive been a fan since i was 5 cuz my gampa and my dad absolutely love ur music and now im the next generation to follow ur music. I just recently saw your new movie the wager it was really good and im glad to see ur still making it big cuz u have earned it and are awesome!!!!

Randy is going to be at Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA on 8/10. Is that close to you? Ticketmaster has been selling tickets for awhile now. I have also seen some excellent seats listed on ebay.
Hi ther, My wife Tami and I live in Toledo, Wa. It sits about 65miles north of portland, Oregon , When are you going to be in the area? Thanks Guy Husvar
Dear Randy,
I was so happy to see your name attached to the Past, Present, Future Seminar. I have wanted to see you in concert for many years, and to mix that with a Christian evening was extra special. Thank you for being an anointed addition to the event. Best of luck on your new album. I'm sure you added many new fans to your list Thursday night. God Bless, Sonia
Thank you for being part of the Past, Present, and Future Seminar in Tucson. I am down here for training with the military and I heard about it on television. I was truly blessed by all the music and the message. I pray that the people who came to only see you, were the many who were searching and, I pray, they found the Lord last night. I pray that those people will tell two or three of their friends to join us tonight. GOD IS SO AMAZING!! Thank you again for your testimony and your music.
God bless you! Thank you so much for being a part of the Past, Present, and Future in Tucson Arizona, TCC. God's spirit was flowing in abundance last night and it was awesome for belivers as well as those who had not yet come to Christ. God used you to uplift the people and you did just that. Thank you for sharing your testimony with us, and it cements our belief in Jesus Christ. Your comment "I am not a good preacher", the scriptures were flowing from your mouth like water, that is all it takes to share the love and word of God with others. God was being glorified through you words, lyrics, and music last night, and many people were touch. May God bless you and your family always. Love The Mainhalls, Arizona City, Arizona
Thank you so much for blessing us in Tucson Az. tonight!
God has richly blessed you and He is using you to bless others! I've always loved your music, but now it is even richer with the songs glorifying the Lord Jesus! Thank you for allowing God to use you to bless us and to bring more people to seek Him. This was a very spiritually powerful night in Tucson. I just wanted to thank you for the music and I wanted to thank God for bringing you to Tucson. Please come back again. I'll be praying for you, your wife, and your band as you travel the roads. God Bless you my friend !
Randy I have listened to you since you first came out. I love your voice. When
I would hear you on the Radio I would say " That's my man." Once you were
on Sesame Street my kids started screeming" There 's your man" I am a Christian and thought it would great for you to get Saved by God's grace. I
prayed this for many years. And now you are a child of God. It has thrilled me
to hear your Christian c.d.'s. I would set and rock my baby in the woumd and
after he was born. Now he doesn't even like Country music. I look foward to your new c.d.
Randy, gotta say your my inspiration! If it wasn't for you, I would be chasing my dreams of becomeing an artist! My first single should be out by Fall of 2008. Hope I get a chance to tour with you!
I love Randy Travis. His voice is like no other. I've listen to him since I was a little girl, riding around with my dad at our ranch. I've never seen him in concert. I would die too!!! So I was wondering is South Florida anywhere in tour plans ever in the future. Come on Randy we love you in South Florida!!!
how great you and your music have made a difference
I first heard you in 1985 or 86 when there's no place like home first hit the air i was 13 at the time and in Dallas and living with my mom because they had just divorced and you and your music have help me get through it and alot of other things in life I have help spread your music as much as i can i sing it to kids and other people who have not heard it and then i get them a cd of you for them you have made such a difference in my life that i there is no way i could explain it. I love your live shows and i will always buy your music and movis and videos i would like to tell you more but i have to go. someday I hope to meet you and tell you more keep on making the music and loveing what you do and god will always provide listeners. thanks Randy for the great songs and memeories.
i am almost 24 yrs. old and i have grown up listening to your music i have every cd you have ever made kept making those hits randy we love you! i get a lot of things because my name is Randy too so I just say thank you to them I am in geart companey to be in the same sentance as you randy so i know from 1 guy to another kept doing what you do and i'll kept buying it?
I HAVE EVERY CD U HAVE MADE. CANT WAIT TO HEAR YOUR LATEST RELEASE.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.GOD BLESS U AND KEEP U IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND.MAY HIS GRACE,GLORY,AND LOVE,SURROUND U IN THE UPCOMMING DAYS AND YEARS
Thanks to my new friend Ronda telling me Randy will be in Georgia my 9yr.is going to her first Randy concert for her birthday and she can not wait. She aslo wants a Randy Travis T-shirt to show all her friends.
My 6 yr old son loves Randy. He knows the words to most of his songs. I am hoping to take him to his first concert sometime this year if I can find one that's fairly close to home.
Actually what she asked is, "How many Randy fans are 25 years old or younger?" She had read something about the younger generation not interested in listening to Randy's music.
This is to the person who said that Randy Travis's fans are 25 or younger. I am a Randy Travis fan & I am in my 40's. This goes to show that he has fans that are younger as well as older generations.
Thanks horsegirl92491, I asked that question because on another site I read a post that said that maybe the younger generation doesn't want to hear Randy's music. You came to mind when I read that because you and I attended the same concert in CT in 2006, it was a first Randy concert for both of us but unfortunately we didn't get to meet each other or Randy either for that matter. It was a long wait for Randy to come on that night because Loretta Lynn was on just before him. Two great legends at one concert. I know from reading some of the posts on this site that there are others about your age who love to listen to and attend Randys concerts (for one there is Jessica who skipped her college graduation for Randy, now how many people would do that?) and I wish that people wouldn't just assume that the younger generation doesn't want to hear the legends from the past. So please speak out and let it be know that you love Randy and some of the other legends who really know what country music is supposed to sound like.
i just want 2 say that since he's been puttin' out music,he has yet 2 release a song i don't absolutely love!my favorite is a toss up between I thought he walkrd on water & I told you so!keep it up randy!
i just want 2 say that since he's been puttin' out music,he has yet 2 release a song i don't absolutely love!my favorite is a toss up between I thought he walkrd on water & I told you so!keep it up randy!
To the person that said how many Randy fans are 25 or younger. One of those would be me. I'm a HUGE fan of his and I'm 16. I'm really NOT a fan of the music Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, or Keith Urban sing. I'm a Traditional country girl that likes Steel guitars & fiddles, instead concerts you can't understand a word that comes out of the artists mouth. Josh Turner & Randy are my all time favorite artists. Then I like Kellie Pickler, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, Sugarland, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Chris Young, Martina McBride, Shania Twain, etc. I tell my mom all the time that I would probably be better being around back when Randy was first starting or before, since I'm not a fan of this new Pop-country phase that everyone at school seems to like. I mean I think about some of the HUGE legends like Eddy Arnold, Porter Wagoner, George Jones, etc. that people my age have never heard of. I just find that unbelievable because they were/are so great.
Dee, you're right on also. Look at the Humanitarian Award - another sore spot i know with both of us. Look at all the charities and things randy has done along those lines. Now I realize that could be Randy's choice not to be recognized since he does what he does for others not for publicity but to lend a helping hand. But, i find that interesting as well that the artist choice used to also be nominated and voted upon by the fans and not too many years ago they even took that away from us feeling their so-called blue ribbon pannel could do a better job I guess. anyway, that was what i was told - not that they could do a better job but that the fans no longer can vote on the chosen artist. We can, however, supposedly nominate someone in our neighborhoods to bea hometown hero. No, sorry people, that doesn't cut it with me. After all Randy has done, i want Randy, not Rascal Flatts and whomever they as of late think has done more than he has. They told me at the time they'd consider him but that was two years ago. I may need to write again for whatever good it may do.
Maybe the nomination needs to come from Randy's office or the label; if such is the case, I hope someone will do it. Again, if it is Randy's choice not to be recognized, i do understand but for all he's done, he certainly should be in line for that award.

I guess I didn't miss much . We had some very bad weather and our satellite went out. So couldn't have seen them if I wanted to. Now that some are saying that they didn't see Randy (even as a presenter) I'm not at all that disappointed that I wasn't able to see them.
Rhonda the ACM's nor the CMA's have been country since Randy was on top. Not likely to change anytime soon either. Not as long as fans contunue to support this stuff they are calling "new country". Which in my opinion has no resemblence to country music at all! If you doubt that,, just consider how fast Randy's current COUNTRY song is climbing the charts. One step forward and 5 steps back!
As you pointed out the 4 years that Randy reigned on top of all the music charts. Was the top grossing artist in the industry,in album sales, concert draws, was the most played artist on radio, and on jute boxes and still didn't warrant "EOY"? I've not the slightest doubt that had the voting been in the hands of the fans as it was this year Randy would have been a 4 tine EOY award winner as well.
The fact that he was deliberately snubbed when he carried the industry on his back during those frist 5 years of his career has alays been a bone of contention for me too
Take the " career achievement" award. Randy has yet to be considered for that award . Yet he has been very successful in other fields of entertainment. Winning Grammys and Dove awards for his gospel offerings.
Then there is the TV and Movies. Some 30-40 projects all told. You don't rack up that many appearances unless those in that field of entertainment find you talented enough to offer you parts. Still no recognition by the ACM's or CMA's (which ever one has that award) for those achievements..
As for Kenny's comment, I don't understand his objection toward the fan voting either. It is THE FANS after all who buy the albums.Who buy the concert ticktes. Everyone else (radio) gets them for free. So it should be the fans who decide who wins whatever award.
Just wondering what you all think about this comment from Kenny.
I can't help but wonder what he is complaining about unless he feared he might not have won and how lucky he was? I don't know.
"For the first time an award winner at the function was decided by country music fans. The top award of the evening went to Kenny Chesney who took the top Entertainer of the Year award. Despite his four year sweep of the award, he said that the award shouldn't have been decided by fans and that the decision let fans choose the winners online was showing "complete disrespect" to artists."
First of all, i'm not sure, even though they let the fans vote, it really did matter - that's how little faith I have in that. But having said that, can someone tell me how it showed complete disrespect for artists? For years i've thought the industry were the ones who were off, who didn't have regard for the fans and their real wants or recognition of who should be considered an entertainer.
In 1990, Randy was the top grossing artist of the year but was snubbed by both ACM and CMA. Had fans had the right to vote in those awards, he would not have been slighted from not ever having gotten entertainer by both of these organizations. This has always been a sore spot with me. Call me bitter if you want but my guess is if Randy was even included on the list today, he'd have gotten his fair share of votes. And if radio had played his music of the past like "Four Walls" and "angels" in 2004 when fans requested and loved the songs, I have no doubt he'd have gotten awards or at least nominations.
Sorry, reading this just got me in the mood to vent. Kenny, I don't understand your comment. It is about time the fans have their say.

I know some time back it was posted that Lib and randy had even gone shopping for some things to attend the awards; did anyone see them there? I watched the Orange Carpet show on GAC prior to the awards themselves but no interview with Randy if they were there.
Then i managed to hold on through the awards show until the last half hour. i fell asleep; that's how impressed i was.

I'm curious
How many Randy fans are 25 years old or younger?
ACM's
Awaards
I couldn't agree with you more Linda.
ACM Awards
I didn't see them. And I have browsed all of the orange carpet photos and didn't find a pic of them either.
What a Weird Comment

So far I have seen very little country in these "country" music awards. Makes me appreciate Randy even more.
CMA Fest
Is there any way to have a meet and greet with Randy on our Trip to Nashville for CMA Fest? We've got the tickets for Randy's interview with Lorriane Crook. Any chances we can meet Randy during the week of fun??
