What an awesome evening with Randy Travis and his band. The crowd was loving every note that Randy sang and I thought it was so cool to see so many teenagers singing his songs back to him. I never want his concerts to end and this one lasted a little longer because Randy came back out and performed an encore.
I love hearing him performing Dig Two Graves and Everything I Own live in concert. I think Around the Bend is perfect from the very first note to the very last and I can't take it out of my CD player.
Janesville, WI was my sixth concert this year and I still have five more to go. I never tire of seeing him perform as he makes each concert different from the one before in a lot of little ways. Thanks Randy for so many wonderful memories.
Before I can tell you about this one I need to start 6 days earlier in Beckley WV. My friend's birthday was the day of the concert (7/19) and she had the great fortune of being granted a meet and greet after the concert. And since I am her friend I was blessed too! We got to spend a precious few minutes talking to Randy. It was great! He is such a sweetheart.
Now here we are at the end of Twyla's birthday week. It is general admission seating (as most of them have been this year). Twyla managed to rush ahead of everybody and got a good spot right up next to the right side of the stage. When Randy came out and looked directly at us, smiled really big and waived. I am certain he recognized us from Beckley just 6 days before. The concert was so great. The crowd really enjoyed him, of course. It always does my heart good to see young kids out there singing along, knowing every word.
I am so ready for the next one in Riverside IA. It will be #7 for the year. This time its reserved seating (yeah!). I will be in the right section, front row, ready to cheer on my man!
