WQhen I went to Randys concert in Modesto on Oct 21 i bought oneof his t shierts that has him palyign guitar on front and the word Tradition on back. I love this shirt. I wear it everywhere. Peopel have asked me if i have een tohsi coinert and I proudly sya yes. Ihope he coem back ytp Modesto again soon I really liked his show

I also like the Tradition shirt. People say to me, ISn't that....um.....I say, yes it's Randy Travis. I also like the Three Wooden Crosses shirt. I was disappointed in the 2010 concert tour shirt. It's the same picture of Randy that was on the 1998 tour shirt. But what the heck...it is Randy. cowwoman60 Denise

Country Music Superstar Randy Travis Visits Gainsboro Family YMCA

Nat Joiner noticed when the two large touring buses pulled into the YMCA parking lot, but it wasn't until one of the bus riders hopped off and came into the Y that he knew the Y had a special visitor.

"Randy Travis", the guest wrote when he checked in at the front desk, and Nat was glad to show him the same special welcome that Y membership staff give to every person who walks in our doors.

The interim manager for the Gainsboro Family YMCA, Spencer Hoopes, and Marty Bishop, the Y's Community Program Director, added their welcome as well, before leaving the singer to his workout.

"A really nice guy," Joiner said. "He let us take our picture with him (see above), and was very friendly. He talked about how focused he is on nutrition, and trying to get exercise when he's on the road. He was very appreciative of this Y, and how nice he found everyone to be."

Travis indicated that his "team" had just left Nashville earlier in the day, and were stopping over in Roanoke before heading on to a concert in Pennsylvania the next evening. He said he always tries to find a YMCA while on his tours, because he knows he'll have a quality experience.

It just goes to show, at the Y, you never know who's under the ball cap on the treadmill next to you!

Sounds like Randy performed "Ain't It Funny How Time Slipped Away" and then they all sang "On the Road Again". This was Aug. 29.

Self-proclaimed lifelong fan Stephen Colbert addressed the audience via video to jump-start the tribute to Willie Nelson. Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Famer Lee Arnold then took the stage to praise Nelson and introduce Jamey Johnson, who delivered a spellbinding acoustic version of “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground.” Lorrie Morgan offered a sultry version of “Crazy,” followed by Randy Travis, who performed a stone-cold honky-tonk rendition of “Funny How Time Slips Away.” Longtime friend Brenda Lee presented the award to Nelson.

Really enjoyed that clip from yall wire for Willie Nelson. Randy sounds great. I see Willie is growing his hair back. Thanks again for that link. cowwoman60 denise

Randy sounding good. Wish he'd record it somewhere.

I don't understand what difference it makes if Randy is on any of these web sites...He is an artist, he has concerts, that's what makes us all like him so much...Sending messages on a computer doesn't make him any more popular...Remember he started LONG before all this was around..
Give him a break....

As you can see on the front page of this RT website, Randy's facebook page is listed. Personally, I like talking to Randy when he is on and getting an immediate response. But keep in mind he doesn't spend a lot of time on facebook.
Dr Don Givens

Dr. Givens...I wish I knew how to send messages to Randy on facebook ....I am registered on the normal facebook , but when I bring up his site there isn't any place to comment on anything...Guess I'm just not adept to technology like Randy says he isn't...HELP!!!!!

You need to "like" his page before you can post on it. If you have not done so, go to the facebook plugin underneath the recent comments section on this site, hit "like" and it will take you to your facebook page to sign in. Then you can comment on his page. You cannot send private messages like you can on a personal Facebook page but you can post to his wall.

Thank you Ronda for the help. I thought I had done that procedure, but guess not..

Two pictures of Randy on the Tennessean's site. I'm guessing he sang "On the Other Hand", since Don Schlitz was being honored.

Randy is picture 17 and 34

I had completely forgotten they were on. I don't watch much TV , so I hadn't heard the announcements like in the past. Thanks for the links to all those
great pic's. Really enjoyed seeing them. I wish I had been more aware of their comming up, to have viewed them. I missed hearing Randy peform. A first as a performer on an awards show in a loooong tme. It makes me so mad that I missed it. I wonder if they might be going to honor him next year for his 25 yrs in the business. And still bringing in new fans every day with his concerts.

Do you know if they will reaire them on GAC or CMT...plese post here if they do. Maybe Lib will mention something about them on his fb page.

Dee, the ACM Honors are not televised, unfortunately. This was the forth year having them. It's to honor the other winners who weren't on the ACM Award show back in the spring.

I honestly didn't know there was a difference. But thanks for letting me know anyway Sara. Still appreciate all the pictures of Randy with other artists.

It might have been the CMA's I was thinking of, and I think (could be wrong) but aren't they aired in Oct?
Dee Randyfan 4-ever

The CMAs will be aired November 10 at 8/7c on ABC.

It wasn't televised, but looks like a fan caught a clip of Randy performing "Forever & ever Amen" & 'On The Other Hand"

Thanks so much for the youtube links. I'm glad someone videoed those songs. Randy's hair looks really good. I just love sitting and listening to Randy's performances. cowwoman60 Denise

Thanks Sara, bunches for posting those links for those performances of Randy...thank goodness for modern technology huh?

RT Team,
I am so glad to have the site back up to full speed or full power again. Thanks to whoever fixed it. Now I can once again suggest that people check out his website when I tell about them seeing him in person. I hope that if other site maintenance is needed in the future that something can be told to (at least paid members if not all members) about it. either on the site or mass pm or mass email) since not everyone is on FB, Twitter, etc.. I was really bummed out about it since I had private messaged the Team about it but did'nt get a response. Even a one line response would have been nice. Anyway, really glad to be able to read the blogs and comments, etc. again.
Sharon

We do need a notice saying the site is down. There is no explanation needed except to let us know the site is down. I thought at first the problem was my computer. Glad to have the site up again. cowwoman60 Denise

A notice to the paid members would have been really nice. Just a how long and why would be nice but anyway, as long as next time they say someting its water under the bridge. I'm just happy to be back and keeping up with whats going on and how everyone is!:)

I saw Randy at Indian Ranch yesterday for the first time! I have always loved his music and was very excited to finally see him in person. He was awesome, not only singing the songs I love, but talking and telling jokes and stories in between. He has an amazing smile. I hope he comes back next year!

Thanks for posting the web site ..It send chills up my spine every time I hear him sing this song...I will be seeing him this Saturday in NY..I'm very excited...He is a great performer, and funny too...

May we take a moment today to honor the memories of the over 3,000 people who lost their lives on this date nine years ago. Prayers to their families.

Randy is on Huckabee right now. At least in the Central time zone. FoxNews station.

He sang America Will Always Stand. He looked and sounded really good. Just eight days and I get to see him in Fort Wayne! Can't wait!

I wish I had known about this. I figured when I saw Eamonn's post on Facebook that they were going to Fox, that it was going to be something. Anyone know if Huckabee will reair?? I set tomorrow's episode at 8 PM ET to record, hope it's the same one!

Really enjoyed the Youtube recording of Randy's performance. It's so wonderful to see everyone back on the site!!!! cowwoman60 Denise

If Eamonn had not posted the photo of Huckabee then I wouldn't have figured it out. I think that it might be the same episode on tomorrow night.

---Josh helped cohost Country Countdown USA this weekend and talked about Randy!

September 11-12: Josh Turner joins Lon this week. He just announced he & his wife are expecting their third son. Josh toured earlier this year with Alan Jackson and Chris Young. He says he & Chris played a lot of basketball on the road. He says he recently recorded a duet with his hero, Randy Travis.
www.countrycountdownusa.com

Thanks for the links to both those events Sara. The one of Josh talking about recording with Randy didn't work. It says no information available.
I tried both links you posted on that post and both come up saying the same thing.

I love Randy's post 9/11 song and I was really disheartened when radio
stopped playing it once Alan Jackson put out "Where Were You."Though I liked Alans song, I just thought Randy's was the more patriotic and deserved to have been supported equally. "America Will Always Stand" still sends chills down my spine everytime I hear it...Randy sings it with such power and emotion.
Dee...RTfan4ever

The links work for me for the interview with Josh.

I did finally hear the interview. I was looking in the wrong place. I just saw the blank screen and the no information available. Didn't think to try anything else. This time I decided to click on the small play button to see if it would do anything and it began to play. So thanks once again.
Dee, RTfan 4ever

I was so happy to see him on Fox. He can make any song a tear jerker...

Thanks so much Sara for sharing the link of Randy's performance of "America Will Always Stand" I love that song! And everything I hear Randy sing, my heart melts into a puddle! Lol. I love his vocals, songs, music...he's simply the best! Thanks so much for sharing :)

Take care

My granddaughter in NJ is into scrap booking. That can become a really
costly hobby. She has made some really beautiful scarp books.
I'm into cross stitching...doing mostly angels ...huge ones like 16X20 size.

At present I am doing a child angel (finished size is approx. 12X12). This is for my great granddaughter Isabel. Everytime she sees me working on a project of cross stitching. She always asks "Is it for her?". I always have to tell her, No!" I came across this really nice little girl angel pattern, who is picking flowers. Isabel is always picking flowers for her mom, or mom-mom or me. So I thought it would be more appropiate then an adult looking angel. I just don't know if I'll get it done in time for Christmas. I'm working on it just about every day. Still a long way to go before it is finished , matted and framed.

PS What kind of scrap books do you do Jasmine?
