Grammy Win

Congratulations to Randy & Carrie. "I Told You So" is my favorite song that Randy wrote. Hope to see you back in Ohio this year.

A bunch more congratulations messages

are posted under countrybugs blog 'Grammys'. I hope Randy and/or the team had a chance to read them too.

Google News Items Regarding Grammy Win

I just finished pulling together a bunch of the Google news items that came across my way to keep in one file. I did not keep just the listing of wins but rather those wherein either Randy commented or comments were made about him. Some are very similar but thought i'd share.

I've removed the URLs from where they came as it is viewing as though it is spam if I leave them in. Sorry I had to exclude them.

Fellow “American Idol” alumnus and country star, Carrie Underwood, did not leave
the Los Angeles’ Staples Center empty handed. Underwood and Randy Travis won the
best country collaboration with vocals award for “I Told You So.” This Grammy goes
to the artists who don’t usually perform together. Underwood and Travis were a perfect
match for this bittersweet ballad. It’s one of the best duo performances in country,
pop, or whatever. The song is one of my favorites from 2009.

Randy Travis Adds Seventh Grammy to Collection
Posted: January 31st, 2010 at 9:41 pm | By: Craig Shelburne
Congratulations to Randy Travis for collecting his seventh
Grammy Award on Sunday night (Jan. 31). He and
Carrie Underwood picked up best country collaboration with vocals for
"I Told You So."
Incidentally, Travis' own rendition appears on his 1987 album,
Always and Forever
-- which earned Travis his first Grammy in 1988. The soft-spoken traditionalist
repeated in the category of country male vocal performance with his 1988 album,
Old 8x10, then later won for 1998's all-star recording, "Same Old Train," and three recent
gospel albums. I wish I could catch his next concert because it's at one of my all-time
favorite venues -- Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth. Need another reason? Because
"I Told You So."

Carrie Underwood on his 1988 self-penned hit, 'I Told You So.'
Unfortunately, the legendary singer was unable to attend the ceremony due to a snow
storm that hit his hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico. But he took to his
website to express his gratitude to Carrie for the win.
"This is the first time that I was not able to be on hand to accept a Grammy," says
the singer. "If it wasn't for the weather I would have thanked all the people who
voted for us. a BIG thank you to Carrie for asking me to be part of this recording.
She is an amazing talent and I am honored to win this with her."
This is Randy's third Grammy win. His other two Grammy awards were both for Best
Male Country Vocal Performance, in 1988 for 'Always & Forever,' and in 1989 for 'Old

Thanks for the wonderful memories from your Irish concerts 2009!

I Told You So

I'm so happy for and proud of Randy and Carrie...they deserved this award! "I Told You So" is my all-time favorite RT song! It's the very first thing I ever heard him sing back in 1988, and I loved *everything* about it, long before I knew he wrote it (smile). IMO - it's right up there with country classics such as "He Stopped Loving Her Today", "hello Darlin'", etc., and it's about time Randy won something for it...and glad Carrie helped make that happen!

Randy/Carrie Master Series Interview

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DkUBb06YZ4

Here's a video clip of Randy's & Carrie's interview from the ACM Honors event last year that was on GAC's Master Series. Love after Bill says that he hopes Carrie does more classic country songs like ITYS down the road, Randy goes "I do too". I'm sure he made quite a bit of money with her singing that song. Although, I do disagree with Randy on one point, because I LOVEE his version of ITYS much better than I do Carrie's. I am glad she brought the song back to the #1 spot though, but she's just not one of my favorite singers, especially with her pop crossover hits like "Cowboy Cassanova" and "Last Name" (can't stand those two songs).

Some of Carries songs

I'm not crazy over those two songs either. But I do, love her new single and video "Temporay Home". It is an amazing song, . And the video they put with it is really moving and perfect for the lyrics. If you haven't already seen it , check it out....I think you'll like this one. You can watch it on CMT.com. I'm sue GAC has it too.
Thanks for that link for that clip of Carrie and Randy wilth Bill Cody.

Speaking of TV - Old Repeat On Tonight )02/11)

Just fYI for those who happen to be looking for something to watch, Randy's two-part series, Touched by an Angel "I Will Walk With You" is airing on Hallmark at 7:00PM and 8:00PM ET tonight.

I'm sure most everyone has it on VHS or DVD but just thought it worth a mention if you're just sitting around and not feeling like trying to find those recorded formats.

Enjoy.
