Entertainer of the Year and Best Female Vocalist for 2009 at the ACM Awards. When Carrie sang I Told You So. It blew me away.

It was awesome. I hope Randy and Elisabeth were able to watch the show. I just know Randy would be so proud of her.

I'm happy for Carrie that she won both EOTY and the female vocalist awards. But you answered my gonna be question of whether
Randy and Lib were there. By saying you hoped they watched the show.

As for your being right about whether he would be proud of Carries's performance of his song? He has said so severasl times since she recorded and perfomed it.

That he loved the way she sings it. That he felt the song was more suited for her vocals (since she can still hit those high notes). And that he has been honored to have her sing one of his songs. Imparticularly one he wrote! So yes, I'd say you are right Sandy. Dee

Hey, does anybody know where I can get my hands on a clip of the episode of American Idol where Randy Travis, Brad Paisley and some other country artists gave the contestants advise?
I have been a Randy fan for a LONG time and loved watching Randy and Carrie sing "I Told You So" together....I am just sorry I missed the episode where he gave the artists advise....if anyone knows where I can find a clip of it I would be SO grateful..I am just so glad to see Randy in the spotlight again and Carrie Underwood win both entertainer of the year and best female vocalist with his song..that is REALLY cool! I am happy for both of them!

Maybe you could try the American Idol website and see if you can find any clips there.

icebyrd75, sorry you missed Randy on Idol; it was actually just the night before the duet because Idol was a two-night event each week, the first where the artists sang with mentoring from a celeb and then the next night where the results were given.

As was suggested, you could perhaps get some clips of Randy from the AI site but he was on quite a lot that night he mentored for each of the contestants.

I just knew last night when they were running the contestants past Idol performances, they'd show randy with Adam and they sure did, just a clip for those who missed it.

Very interesting, think this has happened to you before. Wondering why.

Well I am using the computer at work now so lets see what happens. If you think I was doing it on purpose then look at the time each one was posted. I would have to be pretty darn good to get the exact same time on each one. There are some people who try hard to get noticed but I'm not one of them. LOL!

i don't recall saying you did it on purpose, lademars; i just said it's one way to get noticed.

but i guess some can't take a light-hearted joke around here.

I know what you meant Linda but I wanted to make sure that the real people who run this site understood.

Dee, i think many of us agree with you as i've said and are well aware of all of his achievements. I'm not ssaying you can't post them so don't take it that way, please. I'm only saying that as much as it frustrates us all to heck, it may never change. Is life fair? They say not and many times I've found that to be true myself.

But sometimes it is the small things that do help Randy. Since the ITYS duet, I've read numerous Googles and Yahoo articles that mention his name. Not all of them are positive, especially with regard to the stupid Idol blogs, but I've read many positive ones as well. But what's even more important, I've read other blogs wherein people are reviewing and speaking of albums and movies he's been in that they may or may not even have been aware of had Idol not gotten his name out there. Just a thought. Why the industry doesn't get it, we probably will never know.
I've said this before but sometimes I think it frustrates us fans more than it probably even does Randy.

Have you tried YouTube for the Randy on Idol video? Seems like just about everything can be found on YouTube, including several other clips of him performing over the years. I even saw a clip from an appearence he made on Sesame Street many years ago. It was a lot of fun to watch. Give it a try! Kerry
