Randy- Grand Ole Opry

I am so ready to see the performance tonight on GAC. I already have it set to record. CAN'T WAIT!

grand Old Opry

Yes, I'm wondering which part of the show they'll show us; I'm pretty sure, knowing GAC, we won't get it all.

But i'm ready - nine more minutes.

Grand Ole Opry

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

WHAT AN AWESOME SHOW! It was great.

Opry

3 out of 4 ain't bad. The only one they didn't show on TV was Three Wooden Crosses.

Opry

And they didn't show his joke either.

Randy was great!

I thought his voice sounded a little strained at first. But as he continued to sing his voice got better. In the interview with the guy from the Hall Of Fame Museum, he mentioned Randy was under the weather. So maybe that was still a problem for him when he performed on the Opry.

I had to chuckle when Kevin Cosner said, " he called his wife and told her that he sold out the Ryman...but neglected to tell her that there was a LENGEND who was on the show who would perform before him."

I often wonder what other artists think, when they hear how an audience responds to Randy like they do. Dee

Randy at the Grand Ole Opry

I can see that was a great show and I missed it.
I don't get the GAC Tv channel anymore. I sure would love to see this show.
I am glad everyone else got to see the program also.

strained voice

Randy was putting lozenges or something in his mouth after singing a couple songs at the Nokia Theater. I know his voice is strained but I hope he can keep singing for years to come. My husband says Randy works hard to sing nowadays. When I hear his voice from 1990 I just can't help but cry to hear the difference. We all have aged haven't we!! I still love him. Hope to see everyone at Billy Bob's in March. denise, cowwoman60

Just My Opinion

Interesting comment. Randy has always had cough drops available to him. Personally, i think his voice has matured and is much richer than it ever was. he sounded great in the 80s and 90s but i think he sounds better than ever myself. thus i have to respectuflly disagree he doesn't sound as good.

Strained Voice?

I know that he has issues with his sinuses, and to that I can definitely relate, but I think he sounds awesome! I just came back from seeing him in Canada and he hit those notes that gives me chills and thrills!

Strained voice

I disagree with the statement that Randy doesn't sing as good as he used to. I think that Randy's voice has gotten much better. Rather than just carrying a tune with that awsome voice, he now sings with passion especially since the gospel albums. As my young granddaughter puts it, he sings more manly. Without a doubt time changes everyone, his allergies and yes, time and the way he treated his body when he was real young, but to say that he doesn't sound as good, I don't think so. He will always be the best. He sings from deep within himself. No one else has that sound in the throat and singing from the diaphram. I am probably not explaining myself well, but I wll always Love that voice. The one and only King of Country-------In my opinion Butterfly I don't mean to offend any one, I know that you all LOVE RANDY
