Randy Travis Releases Very First Holiday DVD "Christmas On The Pecos"

RANDY TRAVIS will release his first holiday DVD, CHRISTMAS ON THE PECOS, November 4 from IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT. The new special for the whole family includes live performances shot at the historic Carlsbad Caverns in Carlsbad, New Mexico plus homespun stories and a look at Carlsbad’s beautiful “River of Lights” Christmas tradition. Totaling over 79 minutes, the DVD also has additional exclusive footage of the breathtaking locales including the Carlsbad Caverns and a “making-of” featurette. The DVD is highlighted by spectacular footage of RANDY performing “Silent Night” and “Rock Of Ages” in a cavern 850 feet underground.

This marks the first Christmas video release from the iconic Travis, who launched his career in 1986 with the triple-Platinum-selling CD, Storms of Life. His 1987 follow-up, Always & Forever, went on to sell five million copies, cementing his position in country music history as he went on to become the first country music artist to achieve multi-Platinum status. Travis has released 20 albums total including two Christmas albums, 2007’s Songs of The Season and 1989’s Gold-selling An Old Time Christmas. His most recent release, Around The Bend, hit streets in July of this year, debuting at #3 on Billboard’s Country chart and #14 on the Albums chart.

CHRISTMAS ON THE PECOS features holiday favorites from the Christian Country Music Association’s “Mainstream Country Artist of the Year” warm, natural setting, including a live version of the #1 country hit, “Three Wooden Crosses,” shot live in Carlsbad.

Fran, knew you'd love it. I told you it was well worth the wait.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother but i can sympathize with you. The first Touched by an Angel came out and aired December 25, 1994 and that following June my mom passed away so that story has always meant something to me. Likewise, I'm sure you'll always have this one to comfort you.

Hugs.

Great, glad you got it.

I just received notice from Amazon that my Christmas on the Pecos shipped. I can hardly wait. I should be receiving it tomorrow. It says I paid for one day shipping by UPS; it's been so long ago I ordered it, I couldn't remember what i did.

Anxiously waiting.

I would recommend this dvd to everyone. It was done so beautifully. I was almost in tears hearing him sing Silent Night and during the Christmas reading. Today is two years since my mother has past. My father died in '92. Christmas has never been the same with me. This dvd helps bring back a little Christmas for me. Thanks Randy and Lib for making such a wonderful gift. Sincerely a fan forever, Fran

I know Randy can't win every year. But I was hoping he would . But if it couldn't be him, than at least it was someone ( Ricky Scaggs/ The Whites) who like Randy are Christians and just as deserving. Dee

Were these held for this year already? I know he was honored in the past for "mainstream Christian Country Artist". And that he was recently nominated again for the same catagory for this year .So am curious if the mention of his winning this award is for the past win or if he was again the recipient of it for this year? I forget when these awards were to be held . Dee

I can't wait to have this DVD, this is a wonderful idea, thanks a lot Randy.

Where else can we get the DVD if not from Amazon? Will it be at
Wal-Mart or other stores?

w

Kathy, I'm sure his on line store here on his official site will carry it. Dee

I didn't know about this. This is another dvd I need to add to my collection. I can't wait for that to come out.
Thanks for posting the thread.

I ORDERED 2 MONTHS AGO. CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT IN NOVENBER!!!!!!!!
I ALSO HAVE THE WAGER ORDERED MONTHS AGO FROM ANOTHER SOURCE. GREAT TESTIMENT TO RANDY'S FAITH.

I am now maybe looking at getting Randy's new Christmas DVD. It seems like he had a lot of fun recording that video. I will find out this coming Friday if I will get to order this one when I am on Amazon ordering "The Wager". I'll be happy to finally get "The Wager". Looks like I will get both DVDs, either before Christmas, or for Christmas.

Now, any DVD that you can see Randy Travis throughout the entire film, its the best. And now I can't wait till this DVD comes out because I would love to see it. Randy Travis is the best and I'll always be a #1 fan, Forever and always....

I can't wait too for this dvd to come out. He looks really handsome in the photo. Don't know why he didn't make the top sexy guy list in Country Weekly, I sure voted for him. He only gets better with age!

Have been waiting two years? since we first heard about this. I have already preordered from Amazon and if it does not come that day we will pick it up at Wal-Mart or where ever it is released to. Betty Gerber

pre ordered it from Amazon. And like you I will also purchase it elsewhere if need be. It took 9 days for me to receive my copy of Imus's Ranch album when ordering from Amazon. I am looking forward to seeing this. As you mentioned Betty it's been a long time coming. But at least it is coming. So we can be thankful for that. It could have been scratched entirely. I'm sure we're all happy that it wasn't. Dee
