Randy Travis: My Mentor
When I was in the eighth grade, Randy Travis was on the Grammy Award show a lot.
Now I cannot tell you what awards he was nominated for or what he won, but I can
tell you that night started a love of all things Randy that continues to this day.
The funny thing is that it started as a joke. Since I kept hearing his name so much,
I said, “Randy Travis is my mentor.” I don’t think I really knew what that word meant,
because it did not at all make sense. I remember going to school the next day and

It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you...
"It's what you leave behind you when you go"
Two nights ago, Randy Travis played the Nebraska State Fair. I went with my stepmom to see a man whose music I've loved and admired literally my entire life. I can remember being just a young whippersnapper and my mom and my Nany (the woman who raised me) and Donna (my Nany's daughter) would listen to "I told you so" and "Forever and ever,

American Idol: Danny Gokey Signs Country Record Deal
American Idol finalist, Danny Gokey, has finally signed a record deal. The third runner-up will join forces with 19 Recordings and RCA Nashville to create a country-inspired album, which is far from the
R & B album he originally intended on releasing. Throughout the process of competing on Idol, Danny says that he realized this is where he belonged.

So sang Randy Travis at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on Tuesday night. It's
the first line of one of his first hits, but his performance may have given many
the feeling that they'd been transported to a Grandstand show from much earlier than

Haveing lived in this area for many years, after relocating to texas I made several trips back to this fair when Randy's been there but am not going this year. If anyone is, enjoy.
I also think they are misjudging what "star power" Randy has; otherwise why would they keep bringing him back from time to time. Anyway, I'm just including the short blurb on Randy.
