tomorrow morning (9/9) to learn the final nominees for the
43rd Annual CMA Awards.

Womack was another nominee Wednesday morning: her song with George Strait, "Everything
But Quits," was nominated for vocal event of the year. Also nominated was "Cowgirls Don't Cry," by the soon-to-be disbanded
Brooks & Dunn and McEntire; "I Told You So," by Underwood and Randy Travis; "Down the Road" by Chensey and
Mac McAnally; and "Old Enough," by the rock group Racounteurs, Ricky Skaggs and
Ashley Monroe.

I'm keeping fingers crossed that Randy and Carrie "ITYS" might be among them for a vocal event of the year. It certainly deserves to be.

I think so too. After all didn't the duet get to no.2? Or was that only Carrie's version? I wonder how many downloads of the duet were sold. Do the record companies or the award shows keep track of downloads sales?
After all the positive comments posted on AI , Youtube and several other message boards about ITYS with Randy, it would be downright unfair if it's not only nominated but if it doesn't win it.

Yes, when it was listed as #2 on Billboard, they were listing them together at that time. But Carrie's alone went to #1 on some charts.
I am pretty sure someone tracks sales and downloads but the the unfortunate thing is this is voting by cMA members so sales perhaps would not even play a paart of that unless those votig took that into consideration. And some radio programmers in the industry, of course, didn't even add the duet to their play lists on radio so it should be interesting.
I'll be happy to see it nominated and would be very happy to se it win.
Is there stil a "song of the year" on this awards show? I don't remember but if so, could it be listed also as song of the year even for just Carrie's version wherein randy would getit as a songwriters' award. That too would be outstanding. Maybe i'm hoping for too much.
