Country music star Randy Travis, a nominee for six Country Music Association awards
including entertainer of the year, was admitted to a hospital yesterday for complications
from food poisoning.
Travis, 28, was being treated at Wythe County Community Hospital for a blood condition
stemming from food poisoning, said New York publicist Evelyn Shriver.
Travis was admitted yesterday morning after arriving at the emergency room complaining
of severe stomach cramps, said hospital spokesman Newell Wright, who said Travis
would remain for observation.
"He had been sick all night and they stopped at the hospital as they were going by
the (Wytheville) exit on the highway," said Ms. Shriver, who thought the food poisoning
might have been caused by a hamburger Travis ate Wednesday. Travis was to start a
20-day tour yesterday with stops in West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and
Canada. A performance in Lewisburg, W.Va., at the West Virginia State Fair last
night was canceled while Travis recovers, she said.Always and Forever...an RT Fan

Great article! Thanks for posting it.

We tend to think they are immune to anything and forget they too are human. Lib says she now watches his diet and cooks for him and one time mentioned he is allegic to beef. So glad he is taken care of by her.
Thanks for the article. Betty

I am soo glad he is healthy now and that he is much better today. I mean I learn new things about Randy Travis little by little, each and every other day and thank you soo much for sharing this. I appreciate it. Thank you.
