Merle, Harlan, Dolly, Hank Jr. + More Are Early ACM Winners
The Academy of Country Music announced Tuesday the winners of awards that will not be televised on the live broadcast of the 44th Annual ACM Awards.
Merle Haggard and the late Harlan Howard have been chosen to receive the Poet's Award, which honors songwriters for outstanding musical and lyrical contributions to country music.
Dolly Parton is this year's recipient of the Jim Reeves International Award, in recognition of her success in bringing country music to a global audience.
Jerry Reed, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis and Hank Williams, Jr. are all ACM winners this year for the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award, which honors true pioneers of country music.
The ACM's Tex Ritter Award, which is given to a recent movie that prominently features country music, goes to 'Beer for My Horses.' The Toby Keith-penned film features Willie Nelson and Ted Nugent, among other actors and musicians, and boasts a soundtrack full of country music.
David Young is the winner of the Mae Boren Axton Award, in recognition for his 20-years of service to the Academy of Country Music. Instrumental and technical awards go to Tom Bukovac (Top Guitarist), Gordon Mote (Top Piano Player), Glenn Worf (Top Bass Player), Greg Morrow (Top Percussionist), Dan Dugmore (Top Steel Guitar Player), Aubrey Haynie (Top Fiddle Player), Eric Darken and Jelly Roll Johnson (Top Specialty Instrument Players), Chuck Ainlay (Audio Engineer of the Year) and Tony Brown (Producer of the Year).
The Nightclub of the Year is Joe's Bar in Chicago, while the Casino of the Year is upstate New York's Turning Stone Casino. Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium takes honors for the ACM's Venue of the Year.
The ACM Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on April 5 at 8PM ET on CBS.

I am surprised that the ACM would recognize Randy for anything giving they do not seem to recognize his Country albums for any nominations.
