I was searching online through videos, until I came across this! This guy sings a song which he named "The Randy Travis Song" and he sings about how Randy looks like him. As I watched this video, I kind of laughed, Lol. I showed my friend, and she suggested to share it with y'all, which I said it was a good idea, so I just had to. I too like the things he writes. He has emailed me a few times now and did tell me that sales on that song have gone up in the past few days. I have a link to the paper he writes in, you have to go to this link http://www.nixaxpress.com/ then at the top right hand corner click on e- Edition then click on Click Here to enter or you may have to click on First Time user but anyway once you get past that you will be taken to a page where you can read his column. When you get to this page if you type "Perk" in the box that says Enter Your Search Terms Here that will take you to another page that lists all the columns he has written. You just have to click on them and they will come up in PDF format. If you have problems just let me know and I will try to help you out. It sounds confusing but it really isn't.
Jim is the guy who sings the Randy Song but he is also a Comedian, motivational speaker columnist for a newspaper in his hometown. Be sure to click on both links (one at a time of course) to view the entire page.

I decided to send Jim Perkins an mail telling him how I first found him on Youtube and saw his video of "Randy Travis Song" and I shared it on the site. On the other hand, I was looking at some of the links that Lademars posted above and decided to send him an email after reading. Its just a matter of waiting for a respond. And thanks Lademars for posting the links, I appreciate it :)

Love these things, wish we could read his writings all the time. He should put them on the web or somewhere we could get them. I ordered "the River" and just got it awhile ago, Have not had time to listen to it yet.

I just wrote to Jim Perkins to ask if I could post his video on my RT website, he said I could and that if I gave him my address he'd send me his latest cd. He also told me to check out this video of him from more then 20 years ago doing Randy's Meet Me Under the Mistletoe.

Now there ( Meet Me Under The Mistleltoe) video, he does resemble Randy in voice (a bit closer then in the last one) and looks, when Randy was around that age. He is also quite slim in build like Randy.
You can buy the video of the RandyTtravis song in April. The website is www.macperk.com . I'm going to order it. Only because as cherokey

I'm not sure you will be able to buy the video. It says, "This video is a compilation of outtakes and bloopers from an upcoming feature video from Jim Perkins and Mike McAdoo. Now whether this song will be on the cd or not I don't know but you can also purchase their music on itunes.

It's my understanding that they have an up coming feature video coming out in April not a new cd but according to Betty the song is on their latest cd called The River and the song is called "I'm Not Him." You can purchase the song on itunes by going to their website.

I got the cd today along with a autographed photo. The song is on the there.
Randy's first concert is tomorrow. Are any of you going to get to go? So anxious to her what his program is going to include and what kind of ne jacket he will be wearing.

I agree with you Countrybug. It is a nice tribute as you mentioned to him. I agree also with most fans that he doesn't look much nor sounds much as Randy, but it is a good video to watch. It was a pleasure sharing it on his site :)

Can't say I didn't get a good laugh with that Jasmin. He doesn't look or sound anything like Randy. But have to admit the song was kind of cool... though comical. I think Randy would get a kick out of hearing that himself. I still like Josh's "Thank That Man" better.

The guy is right, he doesn't quite sing like Randy Travis but he's not bad either. I wish him luck in his success and this song might definitely do it if the right people hear it.

He sure did not look anything like Randy nor sounded like him. But the song itself, made me laugh. I was like Wow!! And my friend, after seeing it, told me that I should share this with the fans on Randy's site, which I did. I can imagine Randy's reaction towards this video. Hahaha. To me, once I saw the side view of the man, I thought from the image of the side view, looked a little like Randy. And when he smiled from the side view, from my point of view, looked a little Randy as well. That is what I thought, from my point of view :)

Jasimin that was a good find. I have to also admit that I was sure I wasn't going to like it but I watched it and really enjoyed it. I'm glad you shared that with us and I'm sure Randy will get a kick out of it. I agree that the team needs to show it to him.
I was the same exact way when I first came across the video. I then wanted to click on it, just to see what it was, and at as I listened, I said to myself "Wow, I need to share this" which I did. I agree about Randy seeing this himself!! Lol. That sure will be pretty cool :)
