Funny songs...

I have a fun question for y'all Randy fans out there...

Which is your favorite song of Randy's that it's funny for you??

*To me, there are a few but I really do enjoy "You Ain't Right" I always laugh for that song and it always brings a smile on my face. I also say that "Pray For The Fish" is another which brings a giggle out of me and such as "Small Y'all" as well.*

I love when he adds sense of humor into his songs. They are so much fun to listen to and the enjoyment is just amazing. Absoutely love it. Thanks for taking your time in reading my Blog. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Susan, I agree about the line from Forever and Ever, Amen. It is a funny line now since you mentioned it. Thank you for bringing it up. I appreciate it.

It's not the song that's funny, but the line:
"Honey I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair"
it cracks me up every time I hear it!!! What a cute line. I love it when he adds his sense of humor to a song too Jasmin.
G'day to Randy and all his fans from my part of the world...Melbourne, Australia.

I loveee Poor Old Heart and Train Long Gone. Those are 2 great songs. I even have the album Passing Through and I absoutely love it. The 2 songs you mentioned are great ones!! Great choices.

Hi there,
My favorites of his funny songs, (at least I think they are humorous) are: Before You Kill Us All (I really liked the video for it too), Oh What A Time To Be Me, Take Another Swing At Me, Allergic To The Blues, If It Ain't One Thing It's Another, Is It Still Over, Stranger In My Mirror, Everything I Own Has Got A Dent, Card Carryin' Fool, You Ain't Right. She's My Woman. And of course Pray For The Fish.

Not sure whether to call these humorous or not? Poor Ole Heart, Train Long Gone, Call Someone Who Gives A Damn, What'll You Do About Me, Better Class Of Losers, Running Blind. They do have unusual lyrics.
Least favorite Every Head Bowed, it's cute but not one I want to listen to often (maybe too cute?).
Sharon

I temporarily had forgotten about "Oh What a Time to be Me"; abslutely love that song.

Of course i like the others mentioned for the most part but not sure i'd put them in the humorous category; well, perhaps Before You Kill Us All, but I do like them. I think I've said before that Card Carrying Fool is perhaps one of my least favorite RT songs of all time but if it plays, I certainly won't turn it off.

Jasmin,

I think "Pray for the Fish" is one of the funniest of Randy's songs. I was at a concert in Atlantic City, NJ just before he released his Rise & Shine CD and he was trying out a few of the song for us (Pray for the Fish and Three Wooden Crosses -- before they received any air time) and told us how Lib didn't want them to record Pray for the Fish but they kept coming back to it and couldn't resist putting it on the CD. The audience went wild for it and we knew what a hit Three Wooden Crosses would be once we heard it -- we were talking about it all night.

Have a great day,
Carol Ann

I remember that show. He said something to the effect Kyle and he recorded it when Lib went for a dentail appointment. He still says until this day that he had nothing to do with it getting on the CD though. Perhaps not but sure glad it did.

Yes, Linda that sounds about right. I so much love Rise & Shine -- it's always a toss up for me between that CD and his greatest hits when I head out on a long driving trip.

I sure hope he comes back to South Jersey soon -- I was able to see him in Morristown, NJ this past July because my sister lives in the area and they drove us.

Have a great day.

Couldn’t agree more with that Carol Ann. I saw Randy in Ocean City MD and Trenton NJ in May but couldn’t do Morristown. AC is a hop skip and a jump for me.

I love the songs you mentioned, Jasmin. i also like "Have a Nice rest of Your Life" from the "No Holdin' Back" CD and i think "Ants on a Log" somewhat describes the world today.

Randy has always said he likes those tongue and cheek kind of songs and so do I. What is the world without a little humor.

As for Nashville, I've been there a few times and loved it. There is nothing like attending the Grand Old Opry for sure but a lot has changed. The last time i was there was in 1998 and a lot had changed that to me made it Nashville. Randy's gift shop was no more, Opryland Park had closed and it almost didn't seem quite like the same. The Wax Museum and Car Museum still existed but I think maybe those are even gone now. The replica of Randy at the wax museum from what many have said never truly even looked like him.

I'm sure you'd still enjoy it but to me a lot of what made it country has been taken out.
