"Beautiful Song" for Randy Travis.

As I was listening through my Ipod (Mp3 Player) yesterday night, I listened to a song I believe Randy Travis will sing real beautiful. The song is named "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)" by Chris Tomlin.

For most of you who heard it, and for others who haven't, the song is Amazing Grace but the song changes within the song and is different. But the song is AMAZING!! It is such a beautiful song and I truely believe Randy Travis will do an amazing job if he sings it. Here is the video if you would like to see it, if you haven't heard it. Thank you for taking your time in reading my Blog.

Amazing song, and video

Thanks Jasmine for sharing that with us. I agree that is a beautiful song and Randy would do an awesome and inspiring performance of it.
Does Chris Tomlinson have that on a recording do you know? I'll have to do a search on Amazon site or CD Universe to see if I can purachase it. That is such a moving piece. It may just have become my new favorite inspirational song. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful piece of writing and performance.

No I had not seen the video or heard the song before. Again thanks for posting the link and for bringing it to my attention. I hope others here will take the time to view the video and hear that amazing song.It says it all for those who are believers and have had the chains that bind removed from our souls

Jas, e-mail it to his team, and maybe they will forward it on to Randy. I'm sure it is one that he would truly enjoy hearing and perhaps consider recording. Dee

I Can Only imagine

The one song i always wish i could hear Randy sing on his next Christian CD is the Mercy Me "I Can Only Imagine"; i just love that song and thing Randy would have the great vocals to do it justice. Every time i hear it, I can only imagine randy doing it - sorry for the pun, it wasn't meant to be but yet it is so true.

Why me, Lord?

A song I would love to see Randy cover is that meaningful "Why me, Lord?" done many years ago by Chris Kristopherson. Randy would do a wonderful job with that song and those glorious lyrics. I'm going to personally suggest to Randy that he record that song. Wish me luck.

Why Me Lord?

I'm not sure i am familiar with that one although if i heard it, I might recognize it. I may suggest to him myself that he do I Can Only Imagine. Maybe by time we're done, we'll have his entirely next christian CD picked out.

Sometimes if a person waits long enough; it just happens, though. Seriously, I had told people for years two of my favorite all-time Christmas songs were "O Holy Night" and "Angels We Have Heardon High." Much to my surprise and delight, both appeared on his Songs of the Seasons CD in 2007. Of course another of my very favorites on the Christmas release is Labor of Love. .

Oh gosh, here i am talking of christmas already. Well, maybe you've all heard of christmas in July? Maybe as hot as it has been, just wishful thinking.

Re Why Me Lord

Another of my gospel favorities by Kris Kristofferson. That would be another great one for Randy to put on a new gospel album. Thanks Dr Givens for reminding me of that one.Deel

Dr Givens

Do you think you can slip in my request that he include "Deck Of Cards". As Linda said, maybe we can put his next gospel album together for him if we keep remembering these great songs for him to record. .

Think of all the time we can save him having to look for days, weeks, months or a complete year searching for good songs. We know a lot of them. :) Loving him the way we do, we would never steer him wrong on good songs to record. By the way... good luck! :)

PS:Am enjoying your book emensely. As you said some really funny quotes by some really interesting well known people through the ages. Dee

Why me, Lord?

Would love to have Randy record "Why me, Lord?" because the lyrics are so meaningful. Yes, Dee - I will slip in your request for "Deck of cards." I am glad you are enjoying my book "Storms of Life". Randy proof-read the book before publication and then wrote the Foreword. I give him all the credit for it's marketing success. Elizabeth Travis told me to "go for it" and write the book, and Randy gave me his personal permission to use the title of his first multi-platinum album - even though "titles" cannot be copyrighted I wanted his permission to use it. I put the funny parts in it for a reason although the book is an explanation of the meaning of life, I am of the opinion we all need a good sense of humor. Humor helps you to get through the storms.

Why Me Lord

I often find myself asking this question but i know there is always a reason. Sometimes we are hard pressed to know why.

I am posting this and although it is somewhat off topic, it is somewhat of a sad day for me. I share this mainly with those who have through past concerts and friendships have met my Guide Dog, Greg.

I learned yesterday that Greg will need to be retired. He will be 11 the 27th of this month and as of late has been having difficulty getting in and out of vehicles which makes using public transportation difficult since I cannot expect others, in particular, strangers to be helping me lift him in and out of transportation. We beleve it is his hips and knees and he is being put on medication hoping that will aide in his at least feeling better. He is also beginning to develop a cataract on one eye which in time of course also will impair his vision.

Although i may be able to use him locally on occasion in limited areas, those areas i personally know well and/or with friends, officially he will be retired.

I am headed to San Antonio tonight, my first trip without him. If ever I've needed a good Randy fix, it is right now. I debated not even going but have some friends who have agreed to keep Gregovernight.

I know this is a bit off topic but I do have a lot of great memories of his going to the shows with me and just wanted to share this with anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him and/or even getting to know him.

Greg

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Greg Linda, but I know how difficult it is to have to see a belovedp pet age and become disabled.
I hope the medications will help his mobility to improve.

As for the cataract they can be removed, but must develop to a certain stage before. they can be so. At least that is how it is done with humans.
I don't know if that would be the same with animals.

I would imagine veternarians are equipped and trained for all kinds of health issues in animals. At least I would think so. Anyway, my best wishes for you and Greg to be able to continue on together for many more years. Dee

Randy in San Antonio

Hope you have a great time listening to Randy in San Antonio Friday night! (how could you not?) Sorry to hear about Greg, Linda - and wish both of you the very best. My wife and I have seen you at several Randy Travis concerts and Randy & Elizabeth have mentioned to us how many hundreds of concerts you and Greg have attended.
Happy 4th of July to all of Randy's fans.
God bless,
Dr Don Givens

Greg

Greg is such a sweetheart. I hope the medication works and he enjoys his years of retirement pain-free.

Greg

Linda so sorry to hear about Greg. He is a great dog and he will be missed at the concerts. Everyone that saw him loved him. Our Prayers are with you and Greg. It will be so strange not to have him come running down the hotel hall to greet us. We love you both.

We are so sorry to hear about Greg. Alfina & John

Greg

Sorry to hear about Greg's condition. Our labs have had hip dysplasia and had to be on meds. Even the lab we rescued is on pain meds when we got her at 8 months. I know it's hard to watch your best friend get frail and be in pain. God bless you both in this difficult time. cowwoman60 Denise

Greg

Linda - I'm so sorry to hear about Greg and am sure it was a difficult decision for you. I remember well his first Randy show in Indiana on his 2nd birthday (hard to believe that was almost 9 years ago). I'm glad your friends were able to watch him for you so you can go to San Antonio and hope you were able to enjoy your trip even though he wasn't with you. Play him some Randy CDs (or the live DVD since he was there that night too!) when you get back!

SharonN

Sharon N, thanks

Sharon, how well I remember that entire trip - you, Janet, Dale and me - the hog, the 1:00 AM arrival to our next destination only to run into a road block; Greg running behind Randy when we wanted to get our photo taken with him. It certainly is one of my many show memories that stands out when i think about my travels.

thanks for your post.

On the other hand, I pray Greg does feel much better soon, I know the feeling. So let me take this moment and say "God Bless to both Greg and Linda to you both forever and always".
