Hi,
One of my best friends of 30 years is going to start her breast cancer treatments Weds. It is looking good but all the prayers would be even greater.
She is one of those rare friends that love you warts and all. She knows me in side and out loves me anyhow. So please pray for Linda for the next 18 weeks.
Thanks!!

Re: prayers

I am so sorry to hear of your friends battle with breast Cancer. I too hope and will pray that the treatments will have a favorable outcome.

I know what it is like to have such a rare and gifted friend as you described your friend to be to you. Mine sadly passed away just two years ago. We had shared our lives for over 50 years. And like your dear friend, mine too, was one who loved you, warts and all. I miss her terribly.

My prayers are with her, and her family.
Dee

Prayers

My daughter-in-law recently finished treatment for breast cancer and it gave me a whole new understanding of what one goes through. I will most definitely keep your friend in my prayers.
Keep us updated on her progress, if you can.

Hugs to you!
Francie

Prayers

Hi Dee,
What a blessing to have a friend for fifty years! Wow! I can not imagine how much you must miss her.
Great and true friends are had to come by.
Thank you for the prayers and will keep you updated
Dianna

Prayer

Thank you everyone for keeping my friend Linda in your prayers. She is married to a peach of a guy and he sat with her the whole 4 hours of her first chemo treatment. She kept wanting him to go but he stayed put. I talked with her on the phone for awhile( wasn't sure if I would be able to)
and had her laughing, for I am pretty much a character.
I wish I could sit with her but she is in FLA and I in VA but we talk 4 or 5 times a week. I wish I could be there for her. But the phone will have to do for now.
Thanks again!!
Dianna

Friends

Hi Dianna,
I too live in Va, King George County. In a little town called Dahlgren.
My son in law was transfered here from Lockheed Martin to the office down here. We've been here now 10 years. Love the beauty of the country and its quietness.
But miss my home state of NJ due to the conviences of public transportation to anywhere in the state. Here it is own transporation or nothing.

Yes, I do miss my friend every day. She and I were like sisters. I met her at a classmates apt. My youngest daughter was just 2 months old. Evelyn was visiting my friend Cass. Who was a class mate of mine. We just seemed to hit it off.

So I do know exactly how you feel about your friend Linda. I'm glad to hear that you were able to make her laugh. Laughter is such good medicine and good for the spirit. I know it can't be easy to feel like laughing at such a trying time in her life. So I'm happy for her, that she has such a friend who is able to make her laugh . And who loves and cares about her well being. Long time friends are hard to come by. But when one enters your life you truly are blessed, and treasure them dearly. They are a gift from God.

Her husband does sound like a swell guy. I know it made her feel good to see him stay with her through the treatment.

Look forward to updates (as much as you are able) being at such a distance from her, on her progress. And of course will continue to keep her and her family (as well as you and yours) in my nightly prayers.

God Bless,
Hugs Dee

treatments

Hi Francie,
I hope everything went well for your daughter in law with her chemo.
Many of the relatives on my mothers side of the family have passed from one form of Cancer or another. So I know how difficult it is to have to see a loved one have to go through the treatments for such a horrible disease.

I pray she is doing well now.
God Bless
Hugs, Dee

Dee Friends

Dee, I recall when you lost your close friend as well a couple of years ago. It is hard to believe we've been in touch ourselves since around 1997 and the good old days of the AOL folder.

Again, Dianna, I too will keep you in my thoughts aqnd prayers; keep us informed, as Dee said, as much as possible.

Re:friends

Linda, I was thinking about you ,when I was typing that response to Dianna about her friend Linda.

I've always been a believer ,that when one door closes, another opens.
I feel it is also true of friends. I lost one great friend and god blessed me with a few others. You of course being one of them.

I think it was even before the AOL artist site for Randy that we first became acquainted. I think it was when Kiyomi had her site " The Fort" where we first met and started this friendship. I 'm glad that we did get a chance to meet in person at one of Randy's concerts in NJ.

Wow, didn't realize it had been that many years already. We've shared some interesting topics over the years. The main one being Randy of course.
hugs, Dee

Hi Dee

Hi,
Hope this finds you doing well.

I talked to
Linda today and she is only feeling a little ill. So that is good. She is worried about he hair thing. I could never want to imagine that,
I am blessed with very nice hair, so I hope that part goes as God has it. She had a wig made while she still had her hair. She was glad that I shared with my RT buddies what was going on, she so does appreciate prayers ans so do I , I told her we did not sit around and just proclaim how great RT can sing and it is great!
A fan of his since the early 80's and proud of it:-)))

Virginia

Hi Dee
Do not seem to be scary but live in Newport News and would love to call you or take you to lunch some time just to chat. I have a back ground check done every year at church; I have passed and am not to terrible-))))
What do you think? You will not hurt my feelings either way!!!
Thanks Dianna

Dianna

Sounds like a plan. I'll private message you .

Glad to hear that your friend Linda hasn't had too strongly an after effect from the Chemo. I hope that it continues to have a mild effect for her.

Just remind her that her loved ones will lover her anyway hair or no hair. Play her Randy's classic "Forever and Ever, Amen" Maybe that will help ease her concerns about losing herrhair. Not everyone does lose their hair from Chemo.

I remember watching the special with Patrick Swayze with Barbara Waters. One of the things mentioned in their interview by Patrick was that he never lost any of his hair when going through the Chemo treatments.

You said she had a wig made before under going treatment so I'm sure she will feel better knowing she has that in case she needs it.

Newport News I've of course heard of the town/area. But have never been there. I'm terrible with direction (one reason I never learned to drive) Didn't have GPS systems or Map Quest on PC's when I was growing up and became old enough for a license. Couldn't have afforded a car anyway. :)

Anyway, glad to hear that your friend came through her first treatment fairly well. And you and she are quite welcome for the prayers.
hugs Dee

Tried private messaging you but keep getting a comment saying
Recipient does not exist. I used the id you have on the site. Anyway, just wanted to tell you to check your guest book. I've put an entry in there.

address

Hi Dee
my email address is all lower case unlike what it shows here, will check my guest book.
Am spending the day getting ready for our trip to Smith Mt Lake soon. It is so pretty up in the mts this time of year I would love to stay forever. We rent a cabin on the lake and it is very peaceful. Can not wait.
Have a great day and will talk to you soon.
Talked to Linda and she is heading to the fleas markets this morning ( a big thing in FLA) so glad to hear she is up and moving!!

Dee PM'ing Dianna

Dee, I tried sending Dianna a PM and appeared to have no problems. If you typed in the address, perhaps there was a typo? I don't know that for sure of course but one of the easiest ways to PM someone, just FYI, is find the ID on the site such as the forum and just click on it, then click on sen message. In that way, you shouldn't have a problem. that is, of course, unless the system was experiencing some technical problems.

I very seldom try and type anyone's address in. I just enter on the ID and click send. Just a suggestion.
