Around the Bend
What's your favorite songs in his latest album "Around the bend"? I'm feeling my way round most of it, but there are two songs that stand out at first listen: You Didn't Have A Good Time (which is amazing), and From Your Knees.
Is he still writing songs? Didn't seem like he wrote or co-wrote any of the songs in this album. But I like him as a singer more than a song writer anyway.
Country music, never die
I love the song "Pray for the Fish". It's such a hilarious, yet heart-warming song about a man with too many sins to be washed away at his baptism. I love this song because it is just a lot of fun to hear and sing along with.

I watched every single clip of him on YouTube. He is awesome. His voice is amazing.
BTW, does anybody else see the resemblance between him and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger? I know this is silly but I just need to get this out.

Old 8 x 10 is a solid record from Randy Travis that dwells on those staples of country music, love and loneliness. But when Travis croons a love song, he isn't just trying to woo a pretty young thing off a bar stool. The love Randy Travis sings about is commitment, and the songs of loneliness are filled with the regret of having lost a good thing forever. Though not every song offers sage advice, there is enough good moments to make you want to either embrace your loved one or cry in your beer.

I just bought The Wager DVD. I am a huge Randy fan and can not wait for his next concert. Last time, I watched him in the Otawa Civic Center. Not sure when he will come back again.

I think that Randy is always very humble and almost embaressed when somebody praises or looks up to him. I wish that we would see more people like that, but then no one could ever replace Randy in voice and spirt! I am looking forward to his holiday DVD, Christmas on the Pecos with his holiday spirit this season.
