We finally got in touch with my grandson by God's help and a lot of calling around to police and all. Thank you for all your prayers and concern. I am so happy that he is alive. The outcome could have really been bad considering all the evil in this world. Blessings to all Randy Fans. YOU ARE THE BEST--------------------BUTTERFLY

Happy Birthday Dr. Givens, sorry that I didn't say so before. God Bless you in all your work for Christ. My Dad's birthday was the 16th, he was 89. Not so good a birthday as he had a stroke in May and is in a Nursing Home. We go to see him everyday. He wishes so to go home to be with the Lord. Every day he gets weaker and weaker. Thanks again for all your prayers and your rejoicing to my good news. Thank you, Butterfly

I am so glad that your grandson is safe. I can only imagine how frightened
you were at not hearing from him. Is this the one in the service?

My grandson is on his first tour of duty in Afghanistan, and I pray for his safe return every night. Everytime I read reports that there have been more deaths over there, I just pray that he is not among them.

Anyway, I am truely happy that your fears have been put to rest.
I pray that you continue to get good news regarding him.

From and old lady (77) who loves God , and enjoys RAndy ( I think his talent is a gift from God) By a series of coincidences ( no such thing as a coincidence?) I got a meet and greet with Randy when I was visiting in Florida. I have your book and enjoy it very much. Happy birthday and do not hesitate naming the number or years God has given you. I have a degree in sociology and when my students would think I was over the hill I would tell them I am not over the hill but on top of the hill watching them struggling up the hill. Old is one thing we will all get or die trying.

Yea, Dianna, I know what you mean about getting up in the morning and the ole body goes "snap, crackle, & pop." I remember George Burns used to say: "Im so old, when I was a kid, the Dead Sea was only sick!"
Well, I am just thankful to still be able to preach and teach three times a week. Can't afford to "retire" and if I did, would probably get bored. But it sure would be nice to slow down awhile. Scripture says we "groan in this tent" (temporary body) I'm looking forward to the time when I will have more energy and no afflictions.
I have asked Randy Travis why he doesn't slow down or "retire" and he has told me more than once "because too many people depend on him", and besides he is enjoying his singing so much!! And so do we! Keep going Randy! God bless you and Elizabeth.

Happy Birthday to you...Guess it's a little late, but I was away and didn't
get to a computer until today...I think I may have a couple of years on you...It's not the age it's the milage...I'm still able to move and that's the important thing...I'm sure that we could tell a few stories...

It's sad that so many people have to keep working into their 70's and even some at 80. I know we have to keep active or we will turn to stone lol. I sure do plenty of that moaning in this temporary suit. I understand what Randy is talking about. I'm glad he can take a much needed break at times. Yes, those of you going - please do give us a report on his Fort Worth concert with the Symphony. Are Randy's Symphony concerts somewhat different? I'd love to hear it, but cannot make it.

I've only been to two wherein he has performed with the symphony. One was with the kansas City Symphony a few years ago and there the symphony performed for half the show and Randy and band with the symphony for another half. it was a great show.

At the last one with the Ft. Worth Symphony, Randy and band played with the symphony for half the show and then randy and band played alone.

It will be interesting to see how they do it this time and/or if any of randy's newer music was sent to them.

I'll try to remember everything.
