Around The Bend is an awesome album. I enjoy the whole CD, but I also have some favorites. My favorites on the new CD are:
Every Head Bowed
Love Is A Gamble
Dig Two Graves
From Your Knees
'Til I'm Dead And Gone
Pretty much the entire CD. The other songs are favorites to. It just depends what I am in the mood for. I may listen to songs more than once at a time, then go back and listen to the whole album. IT IS AN AWESOME CD. I have it still sitting in my CD player. I just turn it on whenever something is stuck in my head.
I think this is the best album yet Randy has put out. My favorite tracks are Faith in You and Dig Two Graves and I like the fast pace of Til I'm Dead and Gone. He voice is and always will be my favorite voice in country music. When you hear him sing a song, you know its him. I don't really care too much for the new country artists out there now, to me you can't tell one from the other. But with Randy's style you know its him. Too me he can't put out a bad album. This is a 10 plus star rating for me. I definetly would recommend this. Keep them coming Randy!
This is another stellar collection of great country songs from Randy. Once again, he strives to put together the best the genre has to offer in the craftsmanship of these songs, from some of the industries top writers. Every single track here offers some kind of human emotion. Be it despair, sadness, love, or the sheer inocence of youth, in the experience of attending church. Every time I listen to "Every Head Bowed" I can't help but to chuckle and think back to my own early experiences in much the same way as the character in the song.
Of course Randy's voice, is still just as emotive and expressive as ever. I think the fellow from the Dallas Morning News said it best. Listening to a new offering of "real "country songs with meaningful substance, from Randy is like putting on your favorite and most comfortable jeans or boots.. It just feels right and good.
The two extra songs "Lead me Home" and "One In A Row" that were exclusive to an itunes purchase are exceptional as well.
This is such an amazing CD. You can't ask for any more country than this. The love songs are truly heart felt. I can't say I have a favorite because I love them all. Thanks Randy for a true country CD.
My father is a huge fan of Randy Travis and the 30th is his 60th birthday. He has no clue Randy will even be in town. I have already purchased tickets for the 4 of us, but Meet and Greets would truly make his 60th birthday something to remember.
